Coming into Writing 350, I had absolutely no idea what to expect or what this class was even about. It took me quiet a while to start to get the hang on google classroom and slack, but as time when on I began to pick up on the purpose of why this class is taught. Coming to class at 5:30pm was not the first thing I would like to be doing, but Mr. Davis made the class enjoyable, and I mean that. From the code academy assignment to the usability assignment, the topics were different, but all had the same core principle; technology and how it affects our writing as well as learning. The usability test was my favorite project we did this semester. I enjoyed examining a poorly designed website and seeing what changes could be made for improvement. I think that the usability project was my best work done in this class this semester. I did enjoy the infographic project very much too and the visual learning aid part of it. I think that was a very fun and interesting project especially my topic of eye problems from computer screens. The most challenging part for me was the code academy. It was confusing and required a lot of thinking. I don’t plan on using codes in the near future so I am happy about that. Digital writing is so much more than I originally thought. Now when I think of digital writing, I think of codes, info graphs, usability tests. I think of Wikiversity and how it has had an impact of learning. I think of open source learning. Digital writing is huge and I did not realize that until after taking Mr. Davis’ Writing 350 class.
