Summarize the article — include your reaction, thoughts, anything to help you remember its claims. 100 to 150 words This article talked about an amish family, but more importantly the young son Eli Jr. Eli may not be able to read and write as well as other kids, but they describe it as Amish reading. Showing that he can read well enough in his world. Also in writing it was described as Amish writing which is usually to a relative about what has happened in their community.He loved to practice singing and play board games which do not require a high reading level.Eli’s books and magazines gave him happiness and joy that he could read and navigate his Amish world.
Define new terms and concepts by quoting or paraphrasing the original author. “Amish reader” Someone who is Amish that has a proficient enough reading level to be able to understand text in an Amish community.

“Amish Writing” Writing that is proficient to communicate in the Amish community.

Based on the reading, craft one question to act as a springboard for class discussion. I wonder if Amish children have a choice to attend an Amish college or a higher area of learning?
