The following steps will help you get acquainted with your new site and get you ready to start posting
- Edit your “About Me” page. Click on the “About Me” menu item, above, and then click “Edit Page” from the toolbar. You can make this page whatever you want. Feel free to upload a photo or write a short biography. Visit the User Guide to learn more about the editing tools and the differences between posts and pages.
- Make your first post. Most teachers will assign your first “Daily Write” early in the class. To make a post, click
. Then, use the WordPress editor to write your first post as assigned by your teacher. Before you click “Publish,” make sure to put your post in the correct category. The main categories for most WRIT classes are already setup; just click the box for the right one.
- Customize your new site. UM EdBlogs includes hundreds of themes and plugins that can meet just about any use case. Spend some time learning about themes and plugins and make your site reflect your personality!
