How did Dr.Mona’s actions make a difference in the community of Flint?
It allowed the community of Flint to not only have a good source of water but in the long run a less possibility of long term cognitive repercussions from the water.
Can you think of a time in your own life when you have made other people aware of a problem that they were not aware of?
I personally can’t think of a time where I was the one making people aware of a problem but There have been a few instances where I have been made aware of a problem. I was once hanging out with my friends in our Dutch Bros parking lot and there was about twenty of us in the back of everybody trucks. But it was super late probably around 11:30 at night on a Friday. We always go to this place on fridays just to hangout. Some more people started to show up but they were from another school in our town and our two schools were “rivals” in almost every sport. So right off the bat there was tension. But the night went on and eventually somebody had been told that that group of kids had brought a gun. And so that spread like wildfire and everyone started running and getting into cars and freaking out. But me and a friend were further down in the line of cars and neither of us had heard anything. So we immediately start freaking out because we didn’t know what was happening until I got a phone call from my friend who was almost in tears saying she had saw the gu nand that we needed to leave.
What can you do as an individual to make the world a better and safer place?
I can spread kindness. Doesn’t have to be anything huge. Just a smile could change someone’s day.
