The tweet posted above is a screenshot from Representative Jim Jordan. He is an American conservative who has served for Ohio’s 4th congressional district since the year of 2007. He is also a close ally of our President Donald J. Trump. And helped found the Freedom Caucus and continued to chaired the Caucus from the year 2015 to the year 2017. A little background to the tweet he posted this on September 9th 2020, he intended this for both political parties. He is talking about the recent protests that have occured over America. He is blatantly truthful about his opinion on the matter. This tweet refers to pathos, and kairos.
In this tweet the author used a certain formatting to his words. He almost wrote it as if it were a poem, with different stanzas and a different meanings in every stanza. There are obviously different views on this situation and so either side could argue whether this information is accurate or not. Throughout the quote he makes declarative sentences about what side he supports and where he stands on the matter. But I know there are other people who don’t agree with him. There are a bunch of things that run through my head when I first read this quote and the things differ every time I read it. The initial impact will also differ depending on what side of the political status you stand on. And when you read the tweet you can tell that the way it was written was on purpose. The punctuation that was used creates a feeling of sterness. If he had written it without the periods or spaces through the tweet it would just read as a single sentence with no deeper meaning. But because he added the periods and spaces between each sentence in your head you read it with the space and the periods it gives off a sense of seriousness and firmness.
