How do you Define a Writer?

“A writer does not have to be published to consider him or herself a true writer”(Defining a Writer – WritingMag) There are many different ways you could characterize, define or picture a writer, some may describe them as nosy or irritating while others may characterize them as sophisticated scholars. It is all a matter of perspective, and from my personal experience and point of view I have observed that writers or journalists have a sort of different mindset than per say an accounting or economics major. They look at the world through a different lens, one that aids them in creating their work. I myself as a writer have excelled through my classes teaching language arts and english, but I could never write something I thoroughly enjoyed. I see myself as a potentially strong writer who does not know how to take the correct approach towards his work.

10 Ways to Have a Better Conversation

In Celeste Headlee’s Ted Talk she primarily described all the ways in which we fail to pay attention but rather just try to show it through eye contact or nodding our head. She then takes the time to demonstrate that if you are really paying attention there should be no need to pretend to look as if you are. With this she springs her discussion into the long list of what you can do to better improve your conversational skills. Containing ten tactics one of which stuck with me because i do often see myself struggling with; letting your thoughts flow. What she means is when you’re listening to a story and you remember something pertaining to that you stick on that and then don’t listen to the rest of what they are saying. I find myself doing this frequently which is why I took this and am trying to better myself in this way.

Rhetorical Analysis of a Social Media Post

“So now the Democrats are using Mail Drop Boxes, which are a voter security disaster. Among other things, they make it possible for a person to vote multiple times. Also, who controls them, are they placed in Republican or Democrat areas? They are not Covid sanitized. A big fraud!”

The tweet shown above was posted on the social media platform Twitter. This tweet was published by President Donald Trump. Trump is currently the active president of the United States of America. Although President Donald Trump uses other social media platforms to spread information, it seems as though twitter is his primary source for reaching out to the public and addressing topics such as the one above.

In this tweet President Donald Trump expresses tremendous concerns towards the voting mail drop boxes. Which he then stresses is a voter security disaster as these boxes could easily be tampered with or unsecured. This and the fact that citizens could easily vote multiple times is a huge discomfort to the president and many others. Another point the president aimed at was the topic of who exactly was controlling these mail in voting boxes, and more specifically are they placed in certain areas by these people, Democratic populated zones or Republican? President Donald Trump then goes into the fact of the COVID-19 pandemic saying how these mail in boxes are not even sanitized properly for covid and how they could pose a threat to your health and others. Finally President Trump displays his amassed view on the situation debasing it as a big fraud.

Throughout this post on twitter the president expresses his overall concerns towards the entire fiasco, displaying his reasoning as a list with background information to persuade the American people that this fraudulent scam will not be taken lightly and he will find an end to this, as this would corrupt our government. To further amplify what he is saying the president takes short sentences describing the problems with these machines and orders them in a row to greater catch the magnitude of this topic and how tremendously it can impact the world we live in today.

President Donald Trump’s main purpose and goal throughout this tweet is to portray to the american people the informalities and conflicts that have arisen from these mail in vote boxes. Persuading people to take action and not stand for this, to call for in person voting only nd cast away the mail in vote boxes.

August 28th

In my life there has ever very rarely been a case when I would pick up a book and start reading it without someone telling me. I’ve just always seen reading or writing as a chore or work not a pastime, to me it always seemed I had something better to do. on one occasion though my sophomore English teacher assigned us a book that at first I thought “I’m not reading this ill just get the answers from a friend.” Later that week we went out to hunt at my ranch bored one night I pick up the book and start to read it, and actually enjoy it. I finish the book in three days something I thought to be impossible I thought that I may start enjoy reading after that but I haven’t been able to find a book like it.
