One piece of advice I think is very useful is time management. Having so much free time is very new to me because my high school schedule was school, practice, home, repeat. I didn’t have much time to do things between them, so having so much free time will be so much different to me. I will have to learn to separate my social time and my work time. Also I will have to learn how to study. In high school I never really had to study, in college I know it will be much different.
Utilizing my resources is more advice that I feel is useful. Through FasTrack I know I will be exposed to many resources, and by listening to the podcast I heard many things I will use to get a step up in my collegiate career.
What I look forward to most during my freshman year is getting acquainted with campus. Meeting new people and making memories are things I like to do but this will be a new experience and a different playing field because of Covid-19. What I look forward to the least is the online portion of school. I’m more of a hands on learner and like to be in class and asking questions, so I know this will be a challenge to me.
My advice to upcoming high school seniors, is have fun but do your work. If college is something that you feel is for you then take more challenging classes to get a sample of college courses.
