Hi! My name is Jackson Davis South. I go by Jake. I am a senior music major at Ole Miss. I am minoring in digital media studies. Digital media has always been a hobby/interest of mine and I’m excited to begin formally studying it. I hope that through my studies I will gain some skills that will help in promoting my personal music on the digital platform. I’m an avid composer. I have written music for the Ole Miss “Pride of the South”  marching band, the Delta State Marching Band, as well as a few high schools. It is a pipe dream of mine to one day be able to support myself solely by composing. I play most instruments, but my primary instruments are the trumpet and voice. I sing bass in the Ole Miss Concert Singers and play trumpet in the Pride of the South, the Ole Miss Wind Ensemble, and in the Ole Miss Basketball band. When I’m not doing music, I enjoy watching sports, primarily football and basketball. I also enjoy reading and playing games. I have two dogs, Swimmy and Minny. I am excited to share the things I learn in my digital media classes with my blog 🙂
