Hanna Attisha was debating on whether to speak up about a water crisis, or not in fear of society’s judgement. this shows the impact of social media in our world today, and is discussed in the New York Times article as well. Hanna- Attisha might agree with the new york times author on the danger that  social media poses to one’s mental health, especially because she is an immigrant from an authoritarian regime. they might disagree on the specific effects of the shame culture, since Hanna-Attisha is more familiar with that culture.

Daily Write #9 Choosing A Prompt

Which prompt are you choosing and why? What personal connections do you have to this topic? What potential biases might you have? If you have these biases, what can you do to ensure that they don’t interfere with your ability to be objective about your topic? (50-100 words)

-I have chosen the first prompt, because I am heavily interested in the impact of social media, and the danger that it brings to today’s youth. This might be my bias, as I am against the over-saturation of media. To avoid bias, I will acknowledge and become informed of the opposing side.
