Blog 4 – Revision Plan
1. Address the purpose and audience for your essay and how you will consider them in
your draft.
- The purpose of my rhetorical analysis is to analysis the campaign ad “Daisy” to grasp a better understanding of why the creator choose to use the rhetorical appeals to persuade the voters. The audience to consider in my draft is my fellow classmate and professor. Since this is an writing class I will make sure to include background on the ad and time period to give the audience a point of reference.
2. Then, discuss the type of revision you need to start your revision with (structure, style, or
grammar and mechanics).
- I will start my revision process with a structure analysis. I want to focus on going outside the 5-paragraph structure to make it more complex. Then I will do some deep grammar revision with a close friend since grammar has never been my thing. I also plan to take it apart and see if I can add more details to make the essay easier to understand.
3. Finally, discuss the strategies that you will use to move from this type of revision to a
final essay.
- After taking all the corrections and advice I received on my essay, I will take each paragraph and make the specific changes to better each. Then I will compact it all together and start rereading for repetitiveness or grammar errors.
