Summarize the article — include your reaction, thoughts, anything to help you remember its claims. 100 to 150 words Melzer expresses that joining a guitar group on Meetup.com is a discourse community that will help him get better at playing the guitar. He also said that joining the group of guitar players he learned a lot of music vocabulary like beats per measure, melody, etc. He also explains that joining a discourse community can help you make connections in the real world too. Melzer also explains that a discourse community can help you learn what you are doing and make massive improvements in what you are doing.
Define new terms and concepts by quoting or paraphrasing the original author. Melzer used meetup.com to get into the guitar discourse community. Using a website joining a discourse community was new to me because I thought you just had to reach out to people. 
How does this reading connect to other articles from class and/or your own research?

 

This article connects me to my music class because some of the vocabulary used I learned in my music class. I also know some of the terminology used in that article like beats per measure and melody. 
Based on the reading, craft one question to act as a springboard for class discussion.
