- I am good at grammar and I really want to improve my style of writing. I feel like I do not have enough words to put in while writing and that would make my piece less interesting.
- I would like a peer group of people who give me the right feedbacks. I like communicating which makes me draft my assignments better.
- I think I am more of a Gryffindor!

Sometimes The ‘Tough Teen’ Is Quietly Writing Stories (NPR)
High School is tough. It is fun, but tough. Sometimes it feels like everything is easy and available when it takes time and effort to achieve what you want. I personally connect with Matt de le Pena’s article about the tough teen and how he felt Joshua’s life and his readings, his way of expressing his emotions and his life. My identity- my race, gender or class- was not a problem but what I had gone through in high school affected me and to be honest, changed me. It opened my mind and made me a better person today. I read a lot of books from my junior year when I had no one to talk to in school. Reading has impacted on my life in a very positive and mature way.
What I have realized in these two years is that no matter who you are with, you should not lose yourself, your identity. And it is okay to not a have group of friends cause at the end of the day, it is you who you have to face everything, not your peers. Having one true friend is better than having a group of friends who you only talk to for a lesser time. So no matter what happens, your identity should always be with you.

Inviting the Mother Tongue:Beyond “Mistakes,” “Bad English,” and “Wrong Language” |
Summarize the article — include your reaction, thoughts, anything to help you remember its claims. 100 to 150 words |
This article explains about how the mothers tongue is portrayed in a “Bad Language” and “Wrong Language” highlighting how students are pressurized to speak, write and read English only. The phrase ‘The most common attitude towards “Wrong Language” is to want to get rid of it’ highlights how dialects play little roles in people’s lives. When the author talked about how he wanted to make ‘room’ for mother tongue and wanted to make the classroom safe for what people called it wrong showed the dignity and passion towards the dialects in the world. There are various dialects in this universe and each dialect has its own identity. Expressing your thoughts and feelings in your own language gives you the freedom and pleasure to say anything you want/can. |

1. One of them mentioned that time management is extremely important. I find that incredibly useful because planning your day throughout and setting some time for yourself really helps in a non-stressful life.
One other thing is this year, things are a little different. That kind of is affecting me because all my classes are online and meeting new people with social distancing and masks is a little difficult but that makes me be more focused towards my academics a little to get better grades.
2. The most thing I am looking forward to this year is meeting new people but I think that will be a little difficult because I do not have any in-person classes but I think I will meet new people through online classes and on campus
The least thing I am looking forward to this year is maybe large gatherings because with all of the hassle of the Covid-19 breakout, making it more worse is the last thing anybody wants.
3. I am not good at giving any advices but to be honest high school is all about building yourself. It is about gaining knowledge, having a more open mind to everything around you and also having fun!
