lesser exercise #1

For the next 10 minutes, I am going to write about how my first year in college here at the University of Mississippi has been. To start off, it was going great even before I moved to campus. I met so many new people with really only the fact that we are attending the same school as our point in common. But that is why I love Ole Miss. Everyone here is just a part of a big community and it’s something you cannot experience anywhere else. So then when I moved in, I started rush. Rush is a huge thing here and just generally in the south. After that stressful week, I found the chaper that I was meant to be in and I absolutely love it. I have formed so many relationships and gotten so many different opportunities that I am so thankful for. As far as academics go, I did not do so hot first semester because I was not used to managing the new freedom that I was given and my school work.  But I am trying hard to get it together this semester. But all in all, I have had an amazing freshman year so far and I cannot wait for the next three years!

feb 3rd journal

After evaluating the two student submissions, I think that both of them were very well put together and were interesting to read. The student who wrote the paper titled, “You better Think Before You Spit” did a great job of informing the reader just what SPIT was. They explained that SPIT stands for Student Poetry Initiating Thought. It is a project founded in 2013 at the University of Central Florida student organization.

The second student paper titled, “The Puerto Rican Student Association: A Community Identity Analysis” was also very well put together. They explain that “The Puerto Rican Student Association at UCF was founded not long ago in 2017. It
consists of more than 50 active members and continues to grow each semester. The organization
is open to anyone from Puerto Rico or from Puerto Rican descent who currently attends UCF.” I enjoyed reading about this association and thought the writer did a great job considering I wanted to keep reading more about it.
