Connections of the two sources

My two sources “Becoming a Member of Society” and “Miss Representation” have many connections. A connection they both made was about women and how they are depicted as being weak. In “Miss Representation,” some women actually said that they felt less of themselves which is what society wants them to feel. Both sources how that it starts with young children and that they learn those things. Men are taught to see women as an sexual object in both sources. Women should not be seen as that because women are so much more that and should be more respected than just being seen as an sexual object. Gender roles are shown in both sources. It tells what women are taught as young children to do in life and for the rest of their lives. The source “Miss Representation” shows women that went outside of the gender roles and became CEOs, doctors, senators, and more. That source persuades women to become more than what men and society portrays them to be. Society sees men and women as the battle of the sexes. Women are depicted as “born losers” in “Becoming a Member of Society” but in “Miss Representation,” women show that they are more than that and that other women should follow their lead and be more, like a born leader.
