Exercise 1

I really wonder why Martin girls have so much audacity like they drive their car as if they don’t need it for anything and that it is just a beater car when it costs more than my tuition and they didn’t even pay for it. Also, why do they care so much when they are asked to wear a mask? I feel like sorority girls are the reason that the pandemic has not gotten any better and that we are all victim to the pink whitneys of Stockard and Martin. Oldrow and Barstool are probably the reason for the downfall of America, not because of some stupid political reason just simply because there are people who still have a college mindset at the age of 28 and still continue to make the same mistakes they made in Freshman year of college. What is kinda odd is that for an office job, I kinda get paid, to be an emotional punching bag for sorority girls to release their anger on to, but I get paid so I guess it is okay.  Do they just have their mothers on speed dial to complain to the university, because my mother barely even texts me anymore.

Research papers

The two papers “You Better Think Before You Spit” and “The Puerto Rican Student Association” both talks about how discourse communities are important and they focus on a specific community. They both interview a person who is an established person within that community, though the difference between each community is the type of discourse they do as one is academic/art and the other discourse is related to culture. The “You Better Think Before You Spit” interview mostly allowed the interviewee to talk in the paper while the Puerto Rican Student Association paper only quoted whenever necessary and just gave a general overview of what was discussed. The SPIT project paper was more of personal discovery that the writer went through in college and organized it as more of a story but it made the paper seem as if it is just a review and personal testimony of the community rather than a paper just describing the community. The Puerto Rican Student Association was different in its approach as it was more professional and was able to make up for what the previous paper failed to do while sacrificing the personal touch, of course, this was the intention of the writer as they simply wanted to write about the Student Association over their experience with in that group.

Letter to my selfie

I think I am simply an unfunny writer who is occasionally witty. A failed comic would be a more appropriate term. I think my most successful time writing would probably be the time I wrote about hacking tractors, which took a lot of effort to actually read and write. I want to hopefully keep my thoughts in order and make sure I don’t ramble.  I think I need to also work on being more formal as I am a very informal writer, but I still like my informalness but maybe help me take my sarcasm down a couple notches. Maybe also teach me how to be funny but that one is a bit harder so maybe just the former. I think you already know about my style and understand how I flow. So I don’t really know what else you could know.

Also, I don’t take pictures ever so I apologize for the following image.
