Matthews provide illustrations and research information from the Delta Cost Project.The point of this article is to show the readers a breakdown of the main causes of rising tuition, with the three different scenarios stated. Within the breakdown is what’s happening, where’s it happening, number of students enrolled, and an explanation. The intended audience is for individuals affected by the topic, why tuition is rising. The information discussed in the article by Matthews is very useful to anyone interested with the topic. Matthews uses more than one particular college, he uses private, public, and community colleges. Matthews also discusses the different problems each college has to address. Credibility in this article is very visible; the sources used to gather the information are based on the Department of Education’s Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS). A gap in this source is it doesn’t include information from specific ethnic backgrounds and how it effects them. (CONNECT TO OTHER SOURCES IN BIB.) This source is helpful to me, because I can include the data about the different problems colleges face. It will be an illustration of the actual numbers. I haven’t changed my mind about my topic, this is evidence that strengthens my desire to look further into the factors that affect the cost of tuition.

Daily Write: Librarian Insight

What I found that was most helpful was how she broke the topics down into a web so that we can research it easier.  I think it really showed me how to break my down and analyze it better to do my research.  I really enjoyed the refresher on how to work one research.

Research Paper

“While the threat of ransomware isn’t exactly new, high-profile cases like this suggest the severity of an attack’s impact can be crushing, especially as hackers move from targeting individuals to bigger fish such as companies and major institutions like the hospital.” (CBSNews).  I propose conducting additional research about the “increase of cyber ransoms and cyber attacks happening all around America” to learn more about reasons and causes of this problem.  Why is it that cyber attacks and cyber ransoms suddenly arise across America attacking individuals and industries without our country fighting back or attempting to stop the issue?  What can be done to reduce the attacks and protect our country?

Daily Write 2/22/16

I’m not sure what I want to talk about in my annotated bibliography, but I have a connection to the bullying video. The myth of bullying is that “boys will be boys”, or they’re only children. Yes, they are only children, but children  can be very mean. Bullying is serious, and shouldn’t be taken so lightly. I have a personal connection to being bullied, and I went through an emotional time. I was only 8 years old, but I understood what was happening to me and I didn’t deserve the bullying. I defended myself by informing someone; therefore,I wasn’t bullied again. Being bullied can drive you emotionally unstable, or to sucide. Do bullies bully because their environment is unstable? How would they feel if someone bullied them. Being different is what makes us unique, not weird!
