Weekly Write #2 Ole Miss Perceptions
The University of Mississippi has many different stereotypes. Before I came to Ole Miss, even though I am from Oxford, even I had different perceptions of Ole Miss. I imagined this university only having students who did not care about their education and only wanted to have fun and party. Sure there are still many students like this, like there are in every school or university, but I was pleasantly surprised when I realized how many motivated students there are. It also depends on who one surrounds themselves with. I also imagined my teachers being a lot more rude, which I am so thankful they are not. Having this perception actually helped me become more independent with my studies and homework because I knew my teachers would not spoon feed me. I think that Corliss would fit in well at the University of Mississippi. Anywhere someone goes, especially on a campus this large, anyone can find someone they get along with or similar to them.
