Daily write 4/3/17 Peer review of rough draft

The peer review was pretty helpful today. My paper has a long way to go so it was a little difficult to analyze, but my partner gave me some good feedback. My revision plans for Wednesday are to add in places I need to expand, add in my solution paragraphs, and really dig into my annotated bib and add in all of my sources and how they connect to the paper. In my paper, I also need to connect how the military and sexual assault are connected and really expand on what is going on with this epidemic, then expand on how I believe hyper masculine stereotypes are contributing to this problem.

Weekly Write #2 Ole Miss Perceptions

The University of Mississippi has many different stereotypes. Before I came to Ole Miss, even though I am from Oxford, even I had different perceptions of Ole Miss. I imagined this university only having students who did not care about their education and only wanted to have fun and party. Sure there are still many students like this, like there are in every school or university, but I was pleasantly surprised when I realized how many motivated students there are. It also depends on who one surrounds themselves with. I also imagined my teachers being a lot more rude, which I am so thankful they are not. Having this perception actually helped me become more independent with my studies and homework because I knew my teachers would not spoon feed me. I think that Corliss would fit in well at the University of Mississippi. Anywhere someone goes, especially on a campus this large, anyone can find someone they get along with or similar to them.

Daily Write Mon 8/29

There are many similarities between Adichie’s talk and the stories in “Ten Little Indians”. Both discuss stereotypes that americans put on different ethnicities such as black people or asians. Everything we have read or watched so far have all been about racial stereotypes and how it effects these different people. I can personally connect in a different way. Stereotypes for white, blonde, females are that all blondes are stupid and only know how to drink Starbucks or that all of them are stuck up and snobby. No one should ever label another person by how they look. There are many successful blonde white women who beyond succeed in life. Women are capable of doing anything a man can do.
