This was a very interesting reflection. I learned a lot about my other class mates. I agree completely with Cheyanne about standardized testing. Standardized testing is set up for people to fail. It does not help anybody, all it does is stress people out. The stress is so bad, it causes them to fail. As I stated in the video, I was valedictorian of my class, but I had the hardest time with the ACT. The highest score I received was a 26. My new advisory said he could not understand how I was the valedictorian, had all A’s in college but had such a low ACT score. I hate the ACT score somewhat defines how smart you are, because some people are bad at taking test. When it came to Diana’s topic, I had no idea Native Americans were still being victimized. Her topic related to mine when it came to prejudice and racism. Native Americans have been the victims of racism and prejudice forever. However, when we started talking about racism, one thing I noticed Diana say was that I am not racist and neither are my parents but I am not allowed to date black boys or Mexicans boys because they think they are thugs. I did not want to be rude, but I was thinking that is racist, prejudiced, and you all are stereotyping people based on something only a couple of people represent. Her statement kind of offended me, but I wanted to be respectful. People need to realize that even when they say they are not prejudiced, there is still something there.
